Theatre is:
“I think theatre should always be in motion. It should be looking for what makes the spirit, mind and body tingle. Like a mechanism that constantly interacts with itself, its fellow humans and the world as a whole.”

Gerda joined the Valmiera Theatre in the summer of 2023 with a role in the play My Thoughts Want to Talk to Me, directed by Estonian director Kersti Heinloo. The young actress considers her Girl to be an excellent first role to enter the theatre. “It is full of energy, enthusiasm and joy of play. I want to keep these qualities close to my heart and keep them in my future work in the theatre.”

In the future, Gerda would like to play Tess in Susie Miller’s play Prima Facie.

In her final year, Gerda received the following comment from her teacher Michelle Poole on her performance as The Woman in the Expressionist courtroom drama Machinal (1928) by Sophie Treadwell: “Gerda gave The Woman a memorable poetic and romantic dimension, while also vividly embodying the character’s fragility and intellect.”

The teacher particularly appreciates Gerda’s ability to “precisely reveal her professional skills” and “willingness to build cooperation with the director from the very beginning of the rehearsals.” The teacher is convinced that this quality will allow the young actress to “find the right methodology for any future role.”
